Anderson's Spirit of the North is a great place for families and for fishing. The cabins are affordable and clean. The kids will especially enjoy the heated indoor pool. The staff is very helpful and the boat access/docks are easily accessed.
This is my second year in a row coming to Spirit of the North. The owner's are awesome they will do whatever you need within reason. Great for kid's activities. All the dock boys are awesome the cabin are very nice are perfect by no means can you make a ton of family memories yes. With the fishing is good , good as you make it if you need help the dock boys will give you tips so will the Anderson family . I can't complain about anything other then I need more time with my Family at Spirit of the North!!!!! Side note not every thing will be perfect but they will try.
We've been going to Spirit of the North on Leech Lake for 23 years. We absolutely love it!! Our kids grew up vacationing at Spirit of the North & created great memories. There are plenty of things to do for the kids & the grown ups. The fishing is great, the owners are wonderful & the cabins are beautiful!! It's definitely a fun family vacation destination!!
Great resort. Well maintained. Great location. We had a wonderful time the week we were there. The only suggestion I would have would be to put some robe hooks and a shelf in the bathrooms.
I've been coming to Spirit of the north Resort for several years now there is so much to do, the fishing is Top Notch the cabins are well-equipped comfortable very modern the owners are so friendly and very accommodating
We vacation with Tim and Sue at Spirit of the North every year, and we have such a great time. The activities for kids are always a hit, and we look forward to coming back each year!! Cabins are rustic but comfortable, and we sleep peacefully each night. Fishing is great, and the location is perfect for our annual summer vacation.
The cabins are spacious with enough seating however ours was in definite need of repairs. Upgrades would be nice but not necessary as it’s a summer cabin, not a five-star hotel. The location is beautiful and includes a small beach. The entry and bottom of that area is rocky and not sandy. They now have a water trampoline which was fun for our kids. The pickleball and tennis courts are not playable but there are nice courts in Walker for both about 10 minutes away.
We absolutely love Spirit of the North Resort! Tim, Sue, and the entire staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating—always making us feel like part of the family. It’s a smaller, family-style resort with a warm, welcoming vibe that keeps us coming back. The regular kids’ activities, great beach swimming, and kayaks make for endless summer fun, and the indoor pool is perfect for those not-so-sunny days. We’re excited to make many more seasons of memories here—highly recommend for families looking for a place that truly feels like home away from home!
